OUR SOLAR INSTALLATION

Batna/Anteny24 and SunMAX

We also draw energy from the sun!

Recently on the roof of our headquarters we’ve installed Ubiquiti solar system – SunMAX (https://www.anteny24.com/sunlink2). We wanted to have a first-hand experience about advantages of the photovoltaic installation and test the product line of the company, which creates high-quality network equipment on a daily basis. Our company generates high electricity consumption through multiple computers, servers and lights which generates an average consumption of 3.5 kWh per day but we’re able to consume even up to 5kWh.

Our facilities, which is what actually consumes so much electricity:

- starting from the server

which works 24/7, all the time and generates 1kWh

- 2x desktop computers with large 1kWh monitors

- 17x laptops operating from 9.00 to 17.00 CEST with a total consumption of 1.2 kWh

- 14x Ubiquiti cameras that work constantly, consumption of 56Wh

- air conditioning, consuming 1.3kWh

Phase 1.

Since November 2016 we’ve put the first panels on a roof. The plan was simple – check the effectiveness of Ubiquiti panels and reduce energy costs. Ubiquiti panels are fast and easy to install, so we did it by ourselves. The roof on which the panels were installed has a flat surface. That’s why we provided special mounting frames with a slope of 35° under the panels.

To install our entire system we used:

- 10x Ubiquiti SunMAX panels with a total output of 2.5kWh together with microinverters

- 1x connector with an output to the electrical system

- 1x PICO gate to collect data from all panels

Phase 2.

After more than half a year of trouble-free operating of the system, there could be only one decision:

WE NEED MORE PANELS!

And so we come to this day (June 2017). At present, the installation has grown to 30 additional panels. The surface used for this entire system is about 130m2. The whole system can produce up to 10kWh, which of course is a purely theoretical assumption. Virtually, too many conditions affect the performance of the panels - cloudiness, shades or any dirt. On the other hand, during a sunny day, the installation is capable of delivering up to 30kWh, which means that currently production exceeds our consumption.

New, larger installation includes:

- 30x Ubiquiti SunMAX panels with a total output of 7,5kWh together with microinverters

- 3x connectors with an output to the electrical system

- 1x PICO gate to collect data from all panels

For a better overview, below we embed a stream of current energy production. As you can easliy notice, system works efficiently and each panel operates at full power.

Conclusion:

SunMAX system as an innovative product is very efficient. Each panel together with its own microinverter produces the highest possible power. Thanks to easy inslallation you can save money which could be spend on the system assembly by other company. Production results are visible in the above video, and below there’s a photo of graphs from the energy supplier.

On a sunny day, energy production exceeds the consumption, which is a pure profit for the company. In conclusion, photovoltaic panels work very well and we strongly recommend their use.
